An update a long time coming…
If you’ve been following our journey, you know Silbi Brew Works has always been about more than just beer—it’s about building something real, something lasting, and something ours. And like any good brew, this one’s taking time, patience, and a little bit of heat.
Let’s start with the tough stuff:
🔧 Our Equipment Supplier Went Dark
We were nearly across the finish line with a major equipment order when our supplier decided to change their entire business model—blaming global trade uncertainty and, in the process, laying off their entire sales, customer service, and engineering teams. Communication dried up, flexibility disappeared, and we were left holding a mostly-funded contract and a lot of unanswered emails. Legal counsel is now involved as we work to resolve the issue and reclaim momentum.
💼 Job Loss + Financial Hurdles
Back in September, I (Joe) lost my full-time job. The following months were hard—professionally and personally. We hit a financial low that we’re still working to climb out of, but we haven’t stopped. The dream is still alive, and we’re still moving forward, even if it's slower than we hoped.
But here’s the good news:
🔥 Garage Brews Are Back
We’re kicking off the return of our summer garage brewing sessions with a brew day likely happening on June 7. It’s not the shiny commercial setup yet—but the spirit is all there. Brewing with heart, grit, and grain.
📍 Real Estate Vision Still Intact
Our plans through VonBornHam Properties LLC are still in motion. Liberty Township is where we belong, and we’re working behind the scenes to make sure we build something the community can be proud of.
📅 New Target Opening: December 2026
We’re updating our timeline to reflect reality, not fantasy. Our new target for opening Silbi Brew Works is December 2026. It gives us time to recover, rebuild, and do things the right way—without cutting corners.
This journey has been anything but easy—but it’s ours. And we’re grateful for every bit of support you’ve shown. Whether it’s sharing our posts, drinking a garage-brewed pint, or just asking “how’s it going?”—it means everything.
Stay tuned. Stay thirsty. We’re not giving up.
